The TALENT, SOUL, SPIRIT and SWAGGER of Harlem on display.

Harlemwood Film Festival is a popular annual showcase for gifted filmmakers who live, work or are inspired by the culture and the creative energy of Harlem.

Co-founders Voza Rivers and Jamal Joseph recognize Harlem as a tremendous film center, rich with resident directors, writers, producers, actors and two major universities with prestigious film schools - Columbia University and The City College of New York.

Since 2003 the Harlemwood Film Festival has showcased features and shorts that have gone on to win numerous honors and awards. All of the films showcased explore various genres and topics, focusing on Black history and Latin identity, including music, dance and magical realism.

Harlemwood is a mosaic of nationalities, talent and interests that reflects the diversity of Harlem itself.
